Lindholmen Science Park and Innovatum are working to create new test facilities and ways to better use existing facilities in Västra Götaland region. The aim of this project is to strengthen the vehicle industry and to create more jobs.
Gothenburg is currently the scene of ElectriCity – an exciting cooperative venture bringing together industry, research and society in the development and testing of new solutions for next-generation sustainable public transport. The new bus-route 55 bus route offers quiet, exhaust-free buses that pick up passengers indoors and are powered by electricity from renewable sources. Join us for a ride!
AstaZero is the world’s first full-scale test environment for future road safety. What is unique about the facility is that the different traffic environments make it possible to test advanced safety systems and their functions for all kinds of traffic and traffic situations. This enables research, development and certification of future road safety systems, and functions as an international arena open for vehicle manufacturers, suppliers, legislators, universities and colleges from throughout the world.
Electric-powered heavy vehicles are considered a key issue in the conversion to a less environmentally unsound transport system. Rapid advances are predicted for buses, but a solution for electric-powered long-distance transport is paramount in order to achieve large-scale environmental benefits.
With 34 partners, 13 support partners and a 18.5 million Euro budget, DRIVE C2X lays the foundation for rolling out cooperative systems in Europe, leading to safer, more economical and more ecological driving.
At present, several cities and regions in Europe and the North Sea Region are developing strategies and action plans to bring forth electro mobility. To achieve this objective, a range of different incentives are currently being developed throughout Europe to seize the potential of electro mobility, especially in terms of local and regional traffic. However, to date many of these activities are neither well synchronized nor aligned with one another, so that realization is actually confined to only a few cities or regions. As a result, many opportunities for further development and growth of this future key mobility sector remain unexploited.
Elmob is a collaborative project that will design and test electric passenger transport that makes it easier for the residents of Gothenburg to make more sustainable choices when travelling. The focus will be on pedelec pools, electric car pools, electric taxis and plug-in hybrid buses.
