Elmob – More Gothenburg residents to travel sustainably with electric vehicles
Elmob is a collaborative project that will design and test electric passenger transport that makes it easier for the residents of Gothenburg to make more sustainable choices when travelling. The focus will be on pedelec pools, electric car pools, electric taxis and plug-in hybrid buses.
The aim is to develop travel centres and services customised for various types of electric vehicles. Vehicle pools and other types of shared travel services have the potential to reduce the number of vehicles in the city, making it possible to create a better environment for the residents. Energy efficient and quiet electric vehicles offer the potential to improve the local environment even more.
The project helps create conditions for making Gothenburg a greener, more attractive and more sustainable urban city. Elmob, short for electrified mobility, will run between 2014 and 2016 and is a collaboration between researchers, the business sector and the City of Gothenburg.
Elmob is co-financed by VINNOVA within the call for challenge-driven innovations.
